Overview

You, as the website owner, know your website better than anyone else. You know all the navigation, the page layouts, where the information is, and the processes for doing everything. So why would you pay us to tell you where your websites weaknesses are?

Simply put, your customers are more aware of your problems than you are. Most of the time, they only get 1 shot to accomplish the task you put forward for them, whether it’s reading a blog post or purchasing your product.

Your customers are not like you. Most Internet users are experienced with the internet, but are not techno-saavy like you are. They expect your website to interact seamlessly with their whole Internet experience. Our usability review of your website will help you put in place the conventions your users expect.

After our Usability Review, you’ll know exactly how to implement your Usability strategy. We’ll present you with recommendations for short-term fixes you can begin implementing immediately, and you’ll get a roadmap for future fixes that will require an overhaul of your website. Of course, we’re available to implement these changes for you, or to work with your existing design team.

The Process

Analysis

Our first step is a business analysis of your current website. We’ll work with you to define common tasks and scenarios your visitors will be looking to accomplish. Then we’ll take our existing usability research, review your existing website and try to anticipate problems your users may be having. We’ll back up and document these results with real user testing.

Recommendations

Next, we’ll prioritize the problems we’ve found and document two recommended solutions. The first of which is a solution which could be implemented immediately within the context of the current design. The second proposes a solution for complete redesign.

Traditionally the recommendation for full redesign provides the best return-on-investment. However, the immediate solution is often inexpensive to implement and can be just as worthwhile.

Deliverables

Designing Interactive will document and deliver detailed reports on our findings and the results of our usability testing. Along with the detailed recommendations, we document our reasoning. User interface changes are often diagrammed through visual wireframes and flow charts.

Your project manager will be available to consult with you and go over the document with you in person or by phone.
