CWSA Looks Promising
Last night was my first opportunity to join the guys over at the Cleveland Web Standards Association, a relatively new meetup group with a goal of expanding awareness of web standards to local businesses and old-school designers – before taking over the rest of the world.
Direction
I have attended meetup’s like this before, but what stuck with me this time was the collaborative attitude. Joe started the meeting with a concise 2 minute overview of the organization, and then opened it up for discussion. 2 hours later, we stopped collaborating.
Among the many topics discussed, I found the following to be most exciting:
- Business Cases and Resources which explain the business benefits of Web Standards.
- Educational outreach to developers who still stuffer from table-based design.
- Social networking and meeting new people who challenge each other to improve their skills.
Join Us Next Time
The next meeting is on March 4th, 2008 at Tri-C West Campus.
